WildFrontier Safaris

For an African experience on the wild side

Types of accommodation we use when on safari varies greatly depending on the type of safari, the budget and the preference the client.
For safaris where we stay in Kruger Park, the accommodation is dependent on what is available at the time, but we try and get accommodation that at least has private ablution facilities.
The accommodation inside Kruger is generally of a 3 star level, but there are private camps that have more luxurious amenities.

Our philosophy is that the accommodation must be comfortable, but it is usually not necessary to be too opulent, as it is essentially just a place to sleep, as you will spend most of the day out and about seeking out the wildlife and spectacular scenery.
We do realise however that this may not be the view of some of our travellers who want a bit more comfort, but be aware that this comes at extra cost.
Personally, I love spending time in the safari tents (which have their own bathroom and kitchenette), there is nothing better than lying in bed at night listening to the lions roar and the other night sounds, with nothing but canvas between you and the African night sky! It’s awesome!
To give and indication of the type of accommodation we use, I have listed a few types of safari with pictures of the accommodation we have used.

Kruger Safaris

When staying in Kruger, we have various types of accommodation to choose from. Family CottageThere are family style cottages, luxury safari tents, 2 and 3 sleeper chalets, all with their own private bathrooms.
The rooms are supplied with fresh sheets on arrival, and serviced daily. Most units have their own kitchenette, or at least a kettle and tea and coffee facilities, and private barbeque (braai) area.

Private camps are also available in Kruger, and provide  an exclusive, private Kruger experience.
The advantage of this camp is that your group is the only group there. The facilities are somewhat more plush, although some of them only have solar power, and limited generator power. This has not hindered us in the past from having superb experiences in these camps.
Walking Safaris

Walking safaris can take various forms, such as based in a camp and walking out and back, or walking from camp to camp, or camping out in the bush. Most accommodation on walking safaris is in tents, but every effort is made to make the trip a comfortable authentic bush experience.

Lodge Acommodation

We often use lodge accommodation when we stay outside, or on the outskirts of Kruger. These locations are usually in conservation areas with wildlife wandering around the lodge. There are usually facilities such as a bar, swimming pool and restaurant in this type of facility. If this is more your style, then we can accommodate you too.
