I came across this little guy walking across our garden. He is a Marsh Terrapin. They do not have a hinge on the underside of the shell unlike most other terrapins in our area.
I will have to go scouting around to see if there is a marshy area or a body of water where he may have come from. There could be more of his species around there and also snakes ….. an ideal spot to do some herping! 
One of my favourite passtimes.
